I’m a very simple guy who has worked as a financial analyst his entire adult working life. I’ve worked for several companies as a consultant and employee alike. I understand more about financial analysis and investments than most, but just like all other professionals in this game, I’m full of crap most of the time. On this site, I go by the name of Chuck (or if you really want to get intimate…Charles). It’s not my real name, but if you know me, you know it’s close enough.
I’m in my late 30’s, married and in the process of adopting children. We want two and will get two - just a matter of time and money (like everything else). I live in Las Vegas, Nevada, but grew up in the rough and tumble Detroit, Michigan. I lived all over metro-Detroit, as well as Detroit proper. I cut my teeth working for one of the Big 3 automakers as a Corporate Finance Manager. I now work as a private equity manager for a small investment company that primarily invests in real estate. We do other investments as well, but mostly real estate and stock market.

Las Vegas Real Estate- this is my life right now. I am a Vegas real estate investor and broker. I also like the Vegas life - chilling with friends at hot-spots when they come into town; soaking up all the outdoor stuff around town; and generally living the Vegas experience. Since I am responsible for providing a return to my investors, it is my job to know this market inside and out.
Financial Analysis - Of course. There will be tons of banter on all kinds of financial issues and topics. Personal, business, you name it…it’s fair game. I live this stuff every day and it will inevitably be part of the discussion.
Personal - I share as much as folks want to hear about life in Vegas, or the real estate market, our adoption, or anything else. I’m a VERY simple guy, but my life is not always simple - quite the contrary. It will not always be pretty, but I guarantee you entertaining. A lot of “hey, that’s how I feel too” will be going on.

From time to time, I will get some of my friends to guest host and they will no doubt give you a completely different view from mine. These folks are way smarter than I am and will come at things from a different perspective. If you want blog something here, feel free to contact me.
Writing style…
I will do my best not to be long winded. Brad Pitt said it best in Ocean’s Eleven, “Don’t use 8 words, when 4 will do.” From time to time, I will use obscure references to movies, pop culture, and other fun stuff. Sometimes they are funny, sometimes not so much. In any event, I’m going to have fun and hope you do too.
Updating this site…
I am one of those el cheapo kinda guys. I use the freeware tool called WordPress. Most bloggers use this because it is free, but more so because it is stellar. You can do pretty much anything with it and once you know a few tricks…look out! Also, I web host with a company called AN Hosting. They are the least expensive around. Finally, you can also go totally free by using Blogger, WordPress, or LiveJournal just to name a few).
Other stuff…
As a HUGE sports guy growing up in Detroit, I can honestly say the Red Wings, Pistons, and Tigers (maybe not so much the Lions) are the best teams in their sports. I love Detroit sports teams and the Detroit scene in general. I have my old standbys, but suffice to say, Steve Yzerman is a holy-man and Barry Sanders might as well have his own national holiday. Gordie Howe can still barely walk the streets without getting mobbed by fans.
Finally, every year I get older, it seems my Dad gets smarter and smarter. With age comes wisdom. I am learning every day and will share anything I can here.
